EID MUBARAK!!!

This morning my domestic help entered inside with a smiling face saying, ‘’Didi, aaj niche Bhandara laga hai.’’
I asked,” Navaratri days are just over, why this Bhandara then?”
She replied innocently, “Aaj Eid hai na, isliye Bhandara laga hoga…”

What an invaluable statement!

I was not sure about the reason behind the Bhandara, but was definitely amazed by the level of her thinking. I know she is not a part of the so called civilized, cultured, educated society, but possesses a higher vision, where she could see equality in all beings.  It gave me kind of such emotional pleasure which can’t be expressed in words…

Yeah! Today it’s Eid-ul-Zuha. The festive day of offering sacrifice. Quran believes that our prayer, our sacrifice, our life and our death are all for Allah, ‘The Lord of the Worlds’. A sacrifice is a gift of the product of our life. It maybe a gift of our time, a gift of our talent or a gift of our treasure. It lightens our mind and gives us a sense of peace and joy.  Thus a man, in truth, is himself a sacrifice…

If we see, we’ll find a strong message behind each and every festival celebrated all-over the world. I don’t know whether I am religious or not, but derive immense pleasure in celebrating different festivals irrespective of religions, cultures and places. Because each festival brightens the atmosphere, adds colours to life and relieves us from pressure by diverting our moods towards rejoice and merry-making.

To my understanding, the universal supreme power is always there as the driving force of the whole universe. We should respect that and believe in the oneness of God. This faith will make us the believer in one religion, that is – The True Universal Religion of Humanity, which advocates a philosophy of transforming the globe into one family, “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. Where we could consider all the faiths and the religions of the world as true and equal and are nothing but different path-ways leading to the Almighty and celebrate any festival with family and friends, enjoying to its fullest, which is the noble way of making life eventful. Because life itself is a grand celebration and we could promote it with a positive attitude and enjoy the joy of living…

Isn’t it???
