Home Visit

It was a lovely leisurely weekend forenoon for me when husband decided to take the responsibility to amaze us with some self made scrumptious odia delicacies in lunch...
Then I got enough time to restart my expression that was little done last night, when I decided to start after Maa's call - that made me nostalgic. Home visit is more than a year now. Hence the missingness. And that compelled me to revisit the good old days through the wonderful memory lane...
Once done, I asked my poet son to go through it. After having a look he said, Mom, plz stop writing poetry in English. Then I was quite sure of some major flaws to be critically pointed out by him and with a low voice (that I usually never do while talking to him) asked, Is it that bad? Then he said, no Mom, I am seriously thinking, अब मेरा क्या होगा??? Then he had a big laugh, hugged me and said, Do publish it in "straight from heart" ASAP...

Here it goes -

Home Visit

Let's stop for a while,
Take a break
And hear
The barren land's,
The dusky sky's
So fascinating calls
See, how excited
Are they -
A new memory lane,
How they have made
This is the way -
They invite
Aren't we eager
For that
Long awaited meet?
Let's have a home visit
Let's go and see
How are the
Lovely butterflies,
How are the beetles
And hovering bees
Let's bring
The craze back,
Let's check -
Whether our colourful kites
Are thrown orphan
Or still taken care of,
Does the wind
fly them high or not
Let's find our
Handmade Paperboats
Does the rain water
Ask them to float
On its flow or not
Let's go to
Our paradise
The then
Neighbours envy
Owner's pride
Our very own
playing fields
Are they still
That open
Or became
Victims of Urbanisation
Let's miss
Let's remember
Let's relive those days
Of enormous wonders
Let's have a
Home visit
Let's remake
The old life altogether
Anew, afresh
To regain, to retain
More joy, more happiness,
And more laughter...
