Met the girl's father at our place last evening and had a candid chat with him. It's just beyond imagination to know about the volume of mental stress the man is carrying with him since last 4years. He explained us about his happy life before this financial breakdown that landed him and his family nowhere and created heavy mess in life...
He started, after working with some big construction companies moving around in different places, he finally decided to settle down here in Indirapuram, Delhi NCR thinking of his children's schooling and all. So he started a small grocery shop investing his hard earned money and after some years he bought a one bedroom janta flat. Everything was well with him until his elder son fell ill and wrongly diagnosed initially with TB and then with ailment in liver...Though both the problems were proven wrong after some months, but by that time he had already sold his shop, mortgaged his house and even sold his wife's Mangalsutra just to pay the medical bills during his son's treatment...Meanwhile, he got to know about the serious condition of both his parents who were struggling with memory loss as well as different physical malfunctioning due to their old age. So being a responsible son he had to bring both of them to his house from his native village. He has a brother who lives in Mumbai. Once he took his parents to his brother's place who is financially sound and requested him to keep them there, but his brother sent them back in a very short while... So he has no other option left but to take their care whatever way he could in his own different day to day struggles...
He told, his elder son who had gone through all the hell of wrong treatment finally cracked IIT after doing his 12th from Saraswati Bal Mandir and now studying BTech Computer Science in IIT, Gwahati. For his admission he had to provide the BPL certificate and for the semester fees and laptop etc. he has taken bank loan. The initial registration loan amount, per month mess and hostel expenses are still burdensome for him that will continue till 3 more years. The girl is his second child who did extremely well in her 12th board topped in her class with 95%. But due to her father's poor financial condition, couldn't pursue her further studies. After knowing about her grand success in her board exam from the news paper some generous residents from the apartment where the man is presently working as a night security staff came forward and started this mission to help her in her further studies. He was also telling that his third child who is again a boy is the most brilliant among three, who is in 8th class and studying in Vivekanand Global School, Indirapuram and a CA is sponsoring his expenses and has also committed to do the same till he stands...
In the whole conversation I found one thing very heartwarming that he was appreciating his wife a lot for her continuous encouragement and support to face the hardships...
I don't know how relevant is it to write down the above stuffs here that contains his story of despair...
Still just couldn't stop myself from doing so... I was getting chocked whenever I was trying to say him something in the whole conversation...
The words are ringing in my ears like anything that he was saying again and again,"I had a very good name in my locality due to my honesty and my children's brilliance... now it's very difficult to bear the tag of a man of falsehood who is unable to repay the mortgage money of the house that keeps growing day by day and my children are worst affected by it... when the money lender comes and threatens me, my children get disturbed... that I never want... but i am helpless... At times it's really very difficult for me to feed my family that's the bare necessity of life..."
For all this he needs a lot of moral support, that we as an educated matured mass can provide.
